About George

George the Fishmonger, first entered the Queen Victoria Market in 2005 where he operated out of Victoria Market Seafoods, (an opposing store). In 2010, he bought another store (George the Fishmonger stall 35) where he currently resides.Owning both store until 2013/2014 George decide to sell Victoria Market Seafoods and concentrate on Stall 35 (George The Fishmonger).


Born on top of a Fish and Chip shop and spending school holidays in the seafood family business George acquired a passion for Australian Seafood. Developing his Business skills in Hospitality in his early working days switching to retail/wholesale seafood was an easy transition.Our philosophy : if it's not good enough for my Family, Its not good enough for my customers.


Venturing out and creating a restaurant in Queen Victoria Market called Saltwater Sushi and Oyster Bar came naturally.
